After a disastrous loss to Pakistan, Khan is ban from the sport. Then, he and his mother are driven from the family home by angry neighbours.

What is the story of Chak De India?
Kabir is labelled as a traitor of the country who has been involved in match-fixing. Then, he leaves his hometown with his mother.
Seven years later, he comes back with the hopes to become the coach for the National Women’s hockey team of India. He easily gets the position of the coach for the women’s hockey team, as no one cares about their team. Kabir finds himself in charge of a group of 16 young women.
Balbir Kaur, is a short-tempered girl who comes from Punjab and always bullies Rani Dispotta and Soimoi Kolkata, who is from the village in Jharkhand. Mary from Mizoram and Molly Zimik from Manipur in north-east India always faces widespread racial discrimination and sexual harassment.
Kabir realizes that he can make the girls winner but only when he can help them to overcome their differences. During his first few days as a coach, many players refuse to follow his rules. First, bindiya refuses to follow his rules and she also encourages the other people to defy him because of this, Kabir resigns.
Kabir invites the staff and team to a farewell lunch. During lunch, there is a fight between some local boys and the team. Therefore, then Kabir realize that they are acting like one for the first time. After the fight, the women ask Kabir to remain as their coach.
End of the story
Kabir then proposes a match against the men’s team. Kabir’s team loses the match but their performance inspires Tripathi to send the women to Australia for the world cup. On the contrary, Bindiya is upset with Kabir -as he chooses Vidya for the captain of the team.
Due to this, they suffer from the loss in the tournament with 7-0 to Australia. After that, Kabir confronts bindiya about his behaviour on the field and also ask them to stay away from the game. Later on, Kabir trains the girls more and which follows victories for them over England, Spain, New Zealand, and South Africa.
Just before their game with Korea, Kabir uses the strategy of Bindia Naik by approaching her to go back on the field. They won the match with Korea and they enter into the finals. In finals, they once again face Australia.
At finals, the team plays with a team spirit as suggested by the coach and they win the match. After winning the world cup, the team returns to their home. Their families treat them with greater respect and also Kabir, restored his name, and he returns with his mother to their ancestral home.
